The new Tesla roadster is noteworthy to say the least. Correct me if I am wrong but as far as production cars, I believe this is the fastest(0-60) to date. The company recorded time is 1.9 seconds, although recently test driver Emile said those numbers were “conservative”. Yes, you heard that right, conservative. This interview can be found at the bottom of the post. Personally, for me, 0-60 time is more important than top speed. I believe the practicality and use of 0-60 time is of greater value than that of top speed practicality. It is worth mentioning this car has a range of 620 miles, which is astounding for an electric vehicle. I really like Tesla, I just question how fast you could drive this car at high speeds without the battery overheating. Also, if you drove the car in a spirited manner I highly doubt that 620 mile range would be reached. Regardless this is an amazing feat and it is truly a monumental moment for automobile lovers. I can’t imagine accelerating to 60 mph is less than 2 seconds, it sounds ludacris. Ludacris mode is what activates the car into “performance” mode; This mode makes the best use off all the vehicles power. The charging times for Tesla are also getting better progressively thus making the car much more practical even in the eyes of a skeptic. One source claims 80% of the cars battery can be charged in around 10 minutes; this is about how long it takes to fill up on a tank of gas. Is Tesla the car of the future? Will Elon Musk have a hairline short of a monopoly in the car industry in 15 years? He has made his patents public in hopes of normalizing his technology, which is a smart move. To sum it all up, I love the idea of this car, and I would love to have the ability to speed to 60 mph faster than a Bugatti Veyron. This car is priced at 200,000 USD. Let me know what you think.
